The Olympics are a time of joy and celebration, a coming together of competition and countries, to compete at the best of their ability, in a sport they love. We spectators get to see this unfold, all in glorious technicolour, like a good soap opera with a bit of national pride thrown in for good measure.

As an American, Cuba has always seemed like an unreachable destination – or at least extremely inconvenient. Imagine my surprise then, when I discovered a group travel package to Cuba directly from Miami!

Iceland is a unique and exotic destination. Settled by Vikings thousands of years ago, the country is a natural treasure trove. She has weaved her way in and out of history, starting of course with the Viking settling, playing a small role in WWII (housing the British), and is also home to singer Bjork. Largely though, Iceland has been out of the way, isolated way up north.
