The New Forest is one of Britain’s treasures – a National Park located mostly in the county of Hampshire (with a little bit in Wiltshire and Dorset). You may remember it was created in 1079 by William the Conqueror, for his deer hunting pleasure.

With slow steady strokes from my fins pushing me forward, and the loud reassuring sound of the dive regulator filling my lungs with oxygen, I am able to take in all of the reef’s ecosystem.

As I went up the mountain in an old-fashioned cogwheel train, the peaks of Schynige Platte surrounded me. If you didn’t know, Schynige Platte is a Swiss mountain region just south of Interlaken, composed of many breathtaking views.
