Studying abroad is a great opportunity and I’m sure many others are like myself - when I studied abroad in London, it was also my first time abroad. There were definitely some small tips that would have been beneficial, and some I figured out myself. I am able to hopefully provide some insight into what to expect when leaving the United States and arriving in London. It can be an overwhelming experience, but if you have an idea of what will happen when you land, it can make the start of your time in London less stressful.

Postcard from Sanibel Island

The sun beats down on my shoulders as I stroll casually down the waterline. Small, fragile, shells crunch beneath my feet, and grains of sand work themselves between my toes. I can hear birds calling, and children shouting and laughing. I pause to bend over and pick up a shell. All along the beach, shells are piled along the wrack line. Sanibel Island is one of my favorite places in the world, and the shells are part of the reason.

11 photos that capture the essence of rural Ireland

Green. Cloudy. Ancient.

For me, those 3 adjectives describe rural Ireland and its history. With hidden beaches, impossibly green hills, and plenty of castles, Ireland is definitely one of my favorite travel destinations.

Last Christmas, my family and I explored Ireland. Even though we stayed in the cities of Dublin and Cork, we did a lot sightseeing on the coast and in rural areas, enjoying pub food and fish and chips in between each destination.
