A native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Trish Jimenez is of both Mexican and Indigenous descent. Now based in Orlando, she is an emerging artist whose work powerfully explores themes of identity, cultural memory, and the cycle of life. Her pieces are a vibrant fusion of her heritage and personal journey, infused with self-revelation, ancestral resonance, and a deep respect for the sacred and the symbolic.

Calabaza y Yarrow 

Inspired by her familial culture and the inner need to express spirit, fear, and self, Jimenez describes painting as second nature, a medium through which she reveals the layered truths of her experience. Her current work delves into the terrain of Indigenous roots, mortality, and transformation, using canvas, acrylics, animal skulls, and gemstones to fuel a continual archaeological dig into cultural identity and the eventual carrion of life.

“Trish’s artwork is an excellent fusion of her dual ancestries and contains messages within—if you listen carefully,” notes Brad Biggs, Director of Art For All Spaces.

Jimenez’s visual language is bold, enigmatic, and deliberate. Her clean lines and saturated palettes serve as vibrant testaments to the resilience and complexity of her Mexican and Indigenous backgrounds. In Chosen Home, she invites viewers to reflect on what it means to honor one's origins in a rapidly evolving world...and how tradition can guide us through change.
