Discover Canada: a Traveller’s Guide

So you’re thinking of taking a trip to the Great White North, eh? Great choice! Canada is full of unforgettable experiences waiting to happen.

Of course, being the second-biggest country on Earth means that it’s unrealistic to think of Canada as just one destination. The landscapes, culture, towns and cities, and even the language vary across its 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles). And that’s before we get to the dramatic difference between visiting in summer and winter.

As we drove on the long driveway, bounded by deep mounds of snow, leading into Colorado’s Vista Verde Ranch, I admired the pristine beauty of the dude ranch’s spectacular location, approximately 25 miles north of Steamboat Springs. I simultaneously began to wonder about the original settlers who were compelled to reside in this remote wilderness which is now surrounded mostly by the Routt National Forest.

Leaving Home to Find Ourselves

Most of us stumble into adulthood a little battered and bruised, which means we must attend to our wounds before leaping into the lives we were meant to lead. Maybe we have patterns of behavior that involve abandoning ourselves in times of stress. Perhaps our responses to love are still subject to the family programming we received as children. Or maybe our lives have been adversely impacted by a materialistic society steeped in straight, white, cis male supremacy. Whatever the case, nobody is beyond the power of redemption or outside the reach of kindness.

Twotravellingteflers: #TeachAbroadBecause ... experience is the best teacher

Hi! We’re Rich and Kate. Three years ago, we decided to leave our cosy, normal lives back in the UK to go and find something different. That ‘different’ was a new life as teachers in South East Asia. After some time, we decided that we would like to share some of our experiences with anyone who had similar interests to us, and so, the twotravellingteflers adventure was born. We offer a tiny look into our lives of travel, TEFL, and Thailand.

Why Teacher Loan Forgiveness Isn't As Good As You Think It Is

Is Teacher Loan Forgiveness Your Best Option? The Pros and Cons of Teacher Loan Forgiveness
It’s no secret that teachers take on a significant amount of student loan debt but don’t usually earn lucrative salaries to lift them out of that debt. The average student debt among Student Loan Planner’s clients who are teachers is $100,828. In contrast, the average K-12 teacher earned a median salary between $59,420 to $61,660 in 2019, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

For over a year now, one day has blurred into the next..days where you skipped shoes, used the couch as your full-on habitat, weren’t sure if you were hungry or thirsty, and literally were not sure what day it was. These twelve months have seemed far longer than 365 days, but somehow it seems that if we can hold on tight enough, it’s not only the time change that will provide that extra light.
